Welcome to the Flex Terminal Emulator User Guide.

This guide provides information, instructions and technical reference for the use of the Flex Terminal Emulator terminal emulation software.

Flex Terminal Emulator provides access to IBM Z (mainframe) host applications through TN3270E terminal emulation, IBM i (AS/400) host applications through TN5250 terminal emulation and Open Systems (Unix, Linux) via VT420, VT220, VT100, VT52, SCOANSI and WYSE terminal emulations. Host access via the latest TLS (Transport Layer Security) and SSH (Secure Shell) encryption algorithms is available for secure communications. Secure file transfer via TLS or SSH is also available for sending files to or receiving files from any FTP host.

The user interface utilizes the modern ribbon command bar to organize the program's features into a series of tabs at the top of the window. This increases discoverability of features and functions, enables quicker learning of the program, and makes users feel more in control of their experience with the program. The ribbon replaces both the traditional menu bar and toolbars.
